FAA Corporate Designated Engineering Representative (DER) On Staff

  • Has approval authority for 14 CFR Part 33 aircraft engine external components (tubes, hoses, and ducts)
  • Can approve airworthiness data on FAA 8110-3 forms
  • Currently partnered with consultant RS-DER for final approval of repair specifications.
  • Working toward eventual RS-DER appointment

  • Engineering report (includes scope of repair, reverse engineering, substantiation basis, regulatory compliance, special tools if needed)
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) detailing system effects from identified failure modes
  • Repair drawing
  • Approved 8110-3 form
  • Compliance Checklist
  • Process Flow Chart
  • Proposed shop traveler/router
  • Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) review
  • Technical Element Checklist
  • Approved RS-DER cover sheet
